Social media platforms are being utilized by Arizona youth to access illegal substances. This academy will equip educators with lessons that teach the consequences of illegal drug use, the risks of fentanyl, and coping skills with resisting negative peer pressure. Students will learn the effects fentanyl could have on their development, academic success, and plans for their future. These lessons will equip students with communication skills to talk with trusted adults to seek help on issues they are having with drug use and the availability of illegal drugs in their environment. Students will also learn the importance of seeking help for others in medical emergencies and educating themselves on the truth about opioid drugs.
